Liberty Challenge

Winner Gill Cooper.

Winner Gill Cooper.
At our monthly group meeting on 6 Dec. 2025, some of our members entered our "Liberty" challenge, to acknowledge the 150th anniversary of Liberty fabric. There were plenty of interesting and diverse entries and our winner was Gill Cooper with her lovely hexagon bowl.
Row by Row 2025 Quilt Progress

This row is flying geese with appliqué flower.

The fifth row. Birds made with Foundation paper piecing; some of us loved this technique, though not Barbara. I wonder if you can tell which row is hers!

Abbey Quilters have embarked on a monthly Row by Row Quilt this year
to aid with skill building and to challenge even our oldest and keenest members. Each month we are working through a new row that teaches
or reminds us of a specific piecing technique.
This quilt is based on the book "Quilting Row by Row - 27 Skill Building Techniques" by Jeanette White & Erin Hamilton.

Margaret Fletcher Challenge
This years challenge is to make a Quilt block which will be incorporated into our raffle quilt for our 2026 show.
The background fabric issued will be 13 inch square (finishing at 12.5 inch square). The theme for the block is "CELTIC KNOT"
Members are encouraged to use what ever technique they like to complete the knot. Members are not confined to a particular design or colour scheme, just no 3D embellishments as the quilt will be machine quilted.
February 2026 Workshop
8 members signed up for a workshop to either work on their own personal projects or to complete a sampler block for our group quilt “fab farm” by Elizabeth Hartman.
